From idea to growth project in 12 months
The founders of Apotera had previous experience in building up a successful eCommerce pure-player based on Magento Open Source.
After meeting a number of different agencies, the choice fell on PearlConvert, which had both familiarized itself well with the customer-specific requirements that must be met as an online pharmacy and which had proven that it could deliver a user experience on par with the expectations of the founders.
We in PearlConvert usually don't work with many startups. The reason is naturally a combination of the technology and our expertise is best suited for larger players, and that startups are often very financially limited.
Admittedly, Apotera was no ordinary startup, because they didn't think about what platform or agency they needed for their first year of operation. Their starting point was "which platform, agency and people do we need to work with to reach 250M in 3 years?", and then they set themselves up for that right from the start. That way, they could start with the best possible conditions and focus on future growth without new platform changes, which are both risky and expensive.
Best of breed
The project started with a thorough design process where they both focused on how to establish Apotera as a completely new brand and deliver a user experience that was superior to all the other major players in the industry.
We have Magento Open Source as the core of the solution, in combination with Pimcore CMS for content management. Then we have a Best of Breed strategy where we use the best services in all the other facets of a modern digital commerce, such as Clerk.io for personalization, DotDigital which uses the online store's data as a basis for relevant automated dialogue marketing and a number of other services such as ; Porterbuddy, Klarna, Bring etc.
